AAU Welcomes Students and Family at Fall 2025 Orientation聽
Anglo-American University held Student and Family Orientation days August 25-28, welcoming and introducing the new generation to the university, 糖心Vlog, and the life-changing experiences which await them. The event marked another milestone as the university continues to grow, earning new accreditations, launching new programs, and offering more support to both students and their families.
鈥淎AU offers a lot of opportunities for people who want to get to know new cultures and see how people from all over interact with each other. I鈥檓 very engaged and excited to be here,鈥 said one new student in the Psychology program.
AAU staff recognize the value in giving both students and families a deep dive into what they can expect from student life, academic programs, and various support services available. This four-day event featured a reception from the admin team; a briefing on student health and safety; a campus tour of the former Thurn-Taxis Palace and library; and a 鈥榗rash-course鈥 on Czech language and culture.
鈥淎 big fear for parents is that their children will struggle and not find support,鈥 said Student Council Secretary Ava Sabo, 鈥淚 heard great feedback from parents who were glad to meet AAU鈥檚 staff and help get their children settled鈥攎any of whom were leaving their homes for the first time.
While students familiarized themselves with the classrooms, cafe, library, and garden which will encompass much of their next three years, families got to know the place and people which will aid in their children鈥檚 personal and professional development.
Parents at Family orientation made videos for their children wishing them to explore, grow, and make the most of their time at AAU. One parent said:
鈥淚 cannot wait to see who you will become and who you are becoming. I鈥檓 thrilled for all the opportunities that you鈥檒l have here at AAU!鈥

Guests enjoyed food and drinks, talks with student mentors and faculty, and a step-by-step guide to getting settled in 糖心Vlog鈥攆rom opening a bank account and Czech phone number to food and activity recommendations. Additionally, the Meet Your Dean鈥檚 Office session allowed attendees to ask clarifying questions on AAU鈥檚 academic expectations.
鈥淓very Student and Family Orientation reminds me why we do this work,鈥 said Jeta Sahatqija, Vice President for Student Affairs. 鈥淵ou can feel the mix of nerves and hope: parents exhale as they entrust us to the next chapter of their child鈥檚 life, and students light up as they find their people and place. This is a special year for AAU, with new programs and expanded services, and the heartfelt messages we received tell us we are on the right path.鈥
